وَمَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ

“Whoever takes the path to seek knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to heaven.” (HR. Muslim, no. 2699). When discussing this hadith, Ibn Rajab Al-Hambali said as above.

Ibn Rajab Al-Hambali (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Every student of knowledge should strive to gain benefits from the knowledge of God. Because knowledge will lead to Allah and studying knowledge is the shortest way to face Him.

Whoever takes the path of seeking knowledge and does not stop in seeking knowledge, he will be brought to Allah and will be made easier to enter heaven. Seeking knowledge is the shortest way to enter heaven. Seeking knowledge is also the easiest way to enter heaven. This knowledge will lead to various paths in this world and in the afterlife to enter heaven.

Remember, there is no way to know Allah, to attain His approval, to get closer to Him, but through useful knowledge, for which knowledge the apostles were sent by Allah, and because Allah revealed the book. Knowledge is the guide and giver of guidance when someone is in the darkness of ignorance, skepticism (misguided thinking) and doubt. Therefore, the Koran is called light because it can light the way in dark times. As stated in the word of Allah Ta’ala,

يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِمَّا كُنْتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ كَثِيرٍ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتَابٌ مُبِينٌ (15) يَهْدِي بِهِ اللَّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَهُ سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ وَيُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ (16)

“O People of the Book, indeed Our Messenger has come to you, explaining to you much of the contents of the Book which you have hidden, and much (also) which he has left out. Indeed, a light has come to you from Allah, and a Book that explains. It is with that book that Allah guides those who follow His pleasure to the path of salvation, and (with that book too) Allah brings those people out of complete darkness into bright light with His permission, and guides them to the straight path.” (QS. Al-Maidah: 15-16)
