Rasulullah SAW once said to a man, and advised him:

اغْتَنِمْ خَمْسًا قَبْلَ خَمْسٍ: شَبَابَكَ قَبْلَ هَرَمِكَ، وَصِحَّتَكَ قَبْلَ سَقَمِكَ، وَغِنَاكَ قَبْلَ فَقْرِكَ، وَفَرَاغَكَ قَبْلَ شُغْلِكَ، وَحَيَاتِكَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِكَ

Meaning: “Take care of five things before (come) five (other) things. Your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before you are poor, your free time before you are busy and your life before you die.” (HR Nasai and Baihaqi)

These first five things must be utilized, because Allah SWT will ask in the afterlife what this time was used for.

Rasulullah SAW said: “The two feet of the son of Adam will not move on the Day of Resurrection from the side of His Rabb, until he is asked about five things, about what he spent his age on, what he spent his youth on, about where he got his wealth from and what he spent it on, and what he has done from the knowledge he has.” (HR Tirmidhi)

This hadith about appreciating time shows that Muslims must carry out pious deeds throughout their lives, so that they can be held accountable in the afterlife.
